Starting Wednesday, Nov. 1, until Tuesday, Jan. 16, is our Giving Tree Fundraiser. Shop for the library this holiday season! We have several items the library needs! It’s EASY! Grab a Christmas tag off our giving tree of something you would like to donate to the library. Buy it, donate it, whatever it says and bring the tag and the item in as soon as you can! We would like all donations turned in by Jan. 31, 2018.

This Friday, Nov. 3, will be our Wine and Paint Night at 6:30 p.m.! Open to adults and kids 13 and older! If you don’t drink wine, we will have grape juice and of course, goodies for everyone too! Cost is $30 per person (payable the night of the program). Reservations are required! We only have a few spaces left! WE WILL NOT TAKE SIGN UPS OVER THE PHONE, EMAIL OR SOCIAL MEDIA. YOU MUST STOP IN TO THE LIBRARY! (We are also taking monetary donations for the wine and goodies for the evening, so if you would like to donate, please contact the Library Manager.)

Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour is going strong! Bring your toddler or preschool child in Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. Help us have fun with the topic, “Pets”! Stories, finger plays, a craft and more! If you can’t make that day, join us Tuesday, Nov. 14, for “It’s time for bed”! The complete list of topics is available at the circulation desk now.

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, we are hosting the Cooking Matters at the Store Pop-Up Tour at 6:30 p.m. Want to save money at the store? Want to buy healthy foods for your family? Come learn how with a tour of a virtual grocery store! All participants receive a $5 gift card to Wal-Mart, a reusable grocery bag and more! Open to 18 and up! Please sign up if you think you might be able to attend starting Oct. 16, 2017, at the circulation desk. (We want to make sure we have enough free gifts for each participant!)

On Friday, Nov. 10, please join us for our Madison County Veteran talk with Bob Purple at 6:30 p.m. Purple served in the Air National Guard over a span of five decades. Early in his career he served under “Nagasaki Charlie” Sweeney, the pilot who flew the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki. Later in his career, he was called to active duty to serve during a prison riot in Auburn, assist in shipping aid to 3-mile Island during a meltdown in 1979 and during the 1980 Olympics. He also served in the Gulf War. Bob will talk about these and other experiences.

Our next book talk will be Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 6:30 p.m. We will be reading The Christmas Train by David Baldacci. Copies can be picked up now! Discussion open to teens and adults! So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!

We will be closed Saturday, Nov. 11, to observe Veteran’s Day.

We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
