On Nov. 13, 2017, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Alexandria Bay arrested Gregory W. Morse, 55, from Clayton, for one count of first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony; forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, both class “A” misdemeanors.
Morse is accused of having sexual contact with a victim less than 13 years old between July 1, 2017, and Aug. 31, 2107. Morse was arraigned in Clayton Town Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $10,000 cash/$20,000 bond.
This investigation was prompted by a mandated report from the Thousand Islands Central School District. State Police were also assisted by the Jefferson County Child Protection Services and the Jefferson County Child Advocacy Center.
