State Police in Lafayette are investigating an accident that occurred on Interstate 81 in the town of Tully.  The investigation has revealed that at approximately 7 a.m. Dec. 18, 2017, a 2002 Chevrolet propane delivery truck, operated by James P.  Fyffe, 54, of Fulton, was traveling southbound on I-81 when he exited the west shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree.

Fyffe had to extricated by Tully Fire Department and was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse with non-life-threatening injuries. The propane truck did not leak or rupture during the crash.

The investigation continues.
