OPL board slates library vote for March 6

At its monthly meeting Jan. 16, the Oneida Public Library Board of Trustees officially scheduled the annual library budget vote and trustees election for Tuesday, March 6, 2018, with the poll in the library’s meeting room, 220 Broad St., open from 12 noon to 9 p.m.

Any eligible registered voter who wishes to vote by absentee ballot may obtain an application for an absentee ballot by calling OPL Director Michele Ryan at 315-363-3050, picking one up at the library’s circulation desk or going online to the library’s web site (midyorklib.org/oneida).

According to the Madison County Board of Elections, a voter can request an absentee ballot because of absence from the county on election day, temporary or permanent illness or disability, being a primary caregiver for an ill or disabled person, detention in jail awaiting action by a grand jury or a trial or detention in jail for an offense other than a felony.

All registered voters in the OPL’s Special Legislature District are eligible to vote. The special district, which is co-extensive with the Oneida City School District, covers Oneida City, Wampsville and portions of the towns of Lenox and Lincoln in Madison County plus Oneida Castle, Durhamville and portions of Sylvan Beach and of the towns of Vernon, Vienna and Verona in Oneida County.

For more information, stop by the Oneida Library, 220 Broad St., or call 315-363-3050.
