Tenney: FISA Memo shows abuses of American surveillance in attempt for political revenge
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) issued the following statement in response to President Donald Trump signing off on the release of the FISA Memo:
“After reading the confidential Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Memo over a week ago, I fully supported its release so that the American people would have the opportunity to make their own assessment of the apparent abuse of process occurring in our government institutions. The American people deserve a thorough and impartial investigation into the memo’s revelations. It appears that, for political gain, key federal employees at the FBI and Department of Justice deliberately mislead our FISA courts and pursued a partisan political agenda. The Department of Justice’s Inspector General’s report should also be made public upon completion. Furthermore, I will continue to work with Congressional leaders to investigate these serious matters and pursue investigations where necessary to restore public trust.”
