17 Students Place at Regional SkillsUSA
Seventeen CTE students earned top 5 places in the SkillsUSA regional competition, held February 2 at Morrisville State College, and are now eligible to compete in the New York State competition in April.
The students were among more than 40 MOBOCES students from 10 CTE programs who attended the regional event, competing in 23 different contests. They competed against 900 students from 18 high schools in more than 60 events.
The 17 state qualifiers represent 10 competitions and five CTE programs.
Students going on to states this year are from Hamilton, Madison, Morrisville-Eaton, Oneida, Rome and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.
SkillsUSA is an education-industry partnership that engages students in technical skills competitions and fosters leadership development.
