Sheriff’s Office issues update in Sullivan stabbing investigation
On Feb. 23, 2018, Madison County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Brian L. Teachout, 33, of Taylor Road, Kirkville, on charges of second-degree attempted murder, (class A felony), first-degree assault (class B felony) and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (class D felony).
It is alleged that Teachout attempted to cause the death of another person by stabbing that person several times with a knife.
Teachout was arraigned in Sullivan Town Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $150,000 cash bail or $300,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to Sullivan Town Court Feb. 28, 2018, at 1 p.m.
The victim was treated for the injuries at the hospital and has since been released.
