BLOTTER: State police: Syracuse man arrested for DWI and resisting arrest after nearly striking a state trooper
State police arrested Alexander O. Jorge, 21, of Syracuse, for driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.
On Friday, March 16, 2018, at approximately 2:15 a.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop on State Route 5 in the town of Camillus. While the Trooper was outside speaking to the driver, another vehicle sped by, nearly striking the trooper.
A traffic stop was conducted on the second vehicle for failure to move over. The operator of the vehicle, later identified as Jorge, was found to be operating in an intoxicated condition and was taken into custody. During his arrest, Jorge physically resisted being handcuffed.
Jorge was processed and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center due to an active warrant from the city of Syracuse Police Department.
State police were assisted at the scene by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
