TONIGHT (April 5, 2108): Speak Out CNY, Citizen Action to re-create Depression-Era bread and soup line outside Rep. Tenney’s District Office

Advocates Will Demonstrate Devastating Impact Of Proposed Cuts To Food Security Programs In Farm Bill

Speak Out Central New York will join with Central New York Citizen Action tomorrow in the re-creation of a Great Depression-era soup and bread line outside Rep. Claudia Tenney’s district office, to emphasize what life without a food security safety net would be like for her constituents.

Rep. Claudia Tenney will soon vote on the Farm Bill, which is expected to include a provision that dramatically slashes funding for food stamps and food security programs that millions of New Yorkers – and thousands of Tenney’s own constituents – depend on. Participants are asked to bring a canned food item for donation to a local food bank. Attendees can RSVP to the event on Facebook.

WHEN: Thursday, April 5, from 4 to 5 p.m.

WHERE: 555 French Road, New Hartford, NY, 13413
