Red Cross Hosting Military Family Salute Lunch in Canastota
Saturday, April 21 at VFW Canastota Post 600
The American Red Cross will host a Military Family Salute Spring Celebration and Reconnection Lunch on Saturday, April 21, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at VFW Canastota Post 600, 3835 Canal Road, Canastota.
The event is free to all military families, friends, active duty service members, veterans, reservists and agency partners. In addition to a complimentary barbecue lunch, attendees will have an opportunity to meet other local military families, learn about additional Red Cross services, as well as what services are available from other organizations.
Guest speakers are Jeff Wright, executive director of Move Along Inc., and Jim Green and Lee Cameron, fishermen from Project Healing Waters.
Wright will speak about adaptive sports including wheelchair basketball and sled hockey offered to veterans of all abilities. Green and Cameron will discuss fly fishing and the physical and emotional healing that it can provide.
