Tenney: USDA is now accepting applications for technology grants

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) announced that the USDA is accepting applications for rural technology grants to expand broadband eConnectivity to improve access to health care and educational services in rural communities.

The grants range from $50,000 to $500,000 under the Distance Learning and Telemedicine program. USDA Rural Development focuses on providing resources to rural areas to spur growth and economic development. According to the USDA, the grants are available for projects that will provide job training, specialized medical care or academic instruction.

“Rural regions across the nation are still without vital broadband infrastructure,” Tenney said. “Lack of access continues to negatively impact economic development and connectivity in rural communities like the 22nd District. This important USDA program will help provide resources to increase access to broadband in a focused effort to enhance education and healthcare services in rural communities.”
