Morrisville Public Library announces May programs
Library Closures: The library will be closed Monday, May 28, to observe Memorial Day. We will also resume our summer hours and will be closed Saturdays from May 26 through Sept. 1, 2018.
Decorate our SRP Banner: Help us decorate a letter for our Summer Reading banner! Stop in during library hours from Tuesday, May 1, through Friday, May 25, and get a letter to take home and decorate. First-come, first-served. Open to kids ages 2 through 17. Letters are due back to the library by June 15, 2018.
Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, for our preschool story hour! We are having fun reading about “Slowly But Surely-Turtles.” Stories, finger plays, a craft and more.
Movie Night: We will be showing The Greatest Showman at 7 p.m. Friday, May 4. We provide the popcorn; just bring your own beverage. The movie is rated PG.
Play Mahjong: Like to play Mahjong? Want to learn how to play without using the computer? Willing to teach young and old. Join the fun every Monday afternoon at the library! The group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday May 7, 14 and 21.
Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, for our preschool story hour. Bring the little ones in to hear stories about “Let’s Go to the Beach.” Make a craft, finger plays and more.
A Walk through Hamilton’s Historic Houses: We welcome historian Judy Lyrek, who will present on Historical Houses in Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 11. Come and see the photos and hear the stories behind some of the most prominent houses in the town of Hamilton.
Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, for our preschool story hour. Come in and hear stories about “Fly Away Home-Butterflies and Caterpillars.” Make a craft, finger plays and more.
Book Talk: Looking for a good book to read? How about joining our book talk, as we will be reading The Glass Castle by Jeannette Wells at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16. Copies can be picked up now. The discussion open to teens and adults, so grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure-to-be-fun discussion.
Library Board Meeting: The Library Board of Trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in the library’s program room. The public is welcome to attend.
Family Movie Night: We will be showing Peter Rabbit at 7 p.m. Friday, May 18. We provide the popcorn; just bring your own beverage.
Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, for our preschool story hour. We will hear stories about ice cream. This day we end our regular preschool story hour until October. We will have ice cream sundaes to celebrate another great year of stories.
PLEASE NOTE: We are having a summer reading-themed story hour Tuesdays this summer at 10 a.m. from July 3 through Aug. 7.
