31 Express celebrates new ownership with ribbon cutting

The Greater Oneida Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at 31 Express Deli & Grocery to celebrate new owner Marcia Polisse. Marcia officially took over ownership of 31 Express on February 5, 2018. As a regular customer of the deli, Marcia said she would frequently chat with Barb & Steve (previous owners) and they would sometimes joke about her taking over the business, but she never really considered the offer seriously until last November.

Marcia worked full-time for 18 years at White’s Farm Supply in Canastota as a Lawn & Garden Service Manager, which she enjoyed. She loved the work she did, the people and coming to work each day, but last November, once she started seriously exploring the possibility of owning and operating 31 Express, the idea took hold and she realized she was ready for a change.

Since taking over 31 Express, Marcia has kept the original menu, with only a few modifications based on customer requests and has slowly started adding new menu items, a salad, entrée, soup, or different dessert, each week. 31 Express is located at 147 Cedar St., in Oneida and is now open 7 AM – 6 PM Monday thru Friday.
