ICYMI: Chris Clark Bicycle Stunt Show comes to the Sherburne Arts Festival

The Sherburne Arts Festival committee is delighted to announce that, in addition to artists, crafters, live music, a ticket auction, food, raffles, and a student art competition, the 2018 festival will feature the Chris Clark Bicycle Stunt Show June 9 in Gaines Park.

Over the past decade, professional stunt cyclist Clark has competed around the world and has entertained thousands at events like the Gravity Games, the Vans Warped Tour, New York’s Times Square Parade and even the Olympic Games.

During his high energy presentation, professional cyclist Clark shares his story of growing up with a passion for cycling and how he used that passion to make friends, stay healthy, and even as an excuse to avoid the peer pressures all children face.

Each 30-minute show is a breathtaking display of balance and agility as Clark maneuvers his bike and body over his custom built ramps and obstacles, displaying the skills he has acquired in his years of national and international competitive experience.

Clark even gets the audience involved by including volunteers from the crowd as part of the show.

Clark’s ‘Athletes Who Say NO’ program was developed to inspire children to find an active, healthy passion and use their desire to constantly improve as a means for keeping their lives on track, making healthy decisions and surrounding themselves with like-minded friends.

Topics discussed include:

  • Helmet/sports safety
  • The importance of having an active hobby
  • Avoiding drugs and alcohol to reach your potential
  • Finding friends who support your active lifestyle

Following the speaking portion of the program, Clark shows the audience what is possible with hard work and dedication with a demonstration of the skills he has developed in his years of national and international cycling competition. Kids see first-hand what can be achieved with hard work, dedication, and by leading a healthy lifestyle.

Following the show, audience members will have the opportunity to meet Clark, get free autographs and find out how to enter to win a free bike, courtesy of Schwinn.
