Poland man arrested for felony aggravated DWI with a BAC more than twice legal limit
On May 30, 2018, at approximately 4:10 p.m., State Police responded to I-90 in the town of Dewitt for a report of a possible erratic driver.
The investigation at the scene revealed the driver of the vehicle, Herbert Ouellette, Jr., 59, of Poland, was found to be intoxicated. He was transported and processed at SP Syracuse, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.19 percent. Additionally, he has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and was subsequently charged with:
- Driving While Intoxicated: Previous Conviction Designated Offense within 10 years; a class E felony
- Aggravated driving while intoxicated, BAC .18 percent or greater with a prior conviction within 10 years; a class E felony
- First-degree aggravated unlicensed operation; a class E felony
- Vehicle and traffic violations
Ouellette was transported to the Onondaga Justice Center for arraignment, where he was released to a sober third party. No return court date was available.
