Daniel Galvez Named to Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll
Daniel Galvez of Hamilton is one of nearly 200 Lebanon Valley College student-athletes named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Galvez, a gradute of Sherburne Earlville Central School, is a member of the men’s ice hockey team, and is pursuing a bachelor of science in computer and data science and digital communications at The Valley.
The academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who compete in a varsity-level sport and registered a term/semester GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher during their season of competition.
A total of 2,678 MAC student-athletes who competed in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, softball, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s indoor track & field, men’s and women’s outdoor track & field, men’s volleyball, and wrestling received honor roll recognition. A total of 1,010 student-athletes were named to the winter honor roll and 1,668 were named to the spring version.
Most impressively, 22 LVC student-athletes earned 4.00 GPAs during their semester of championship competition, including men’s ice hockey’s Brad Nolan and Nick Skerlick, Kevin Beaver from men’s lacrosse, softball’s Natalya Sizdahkhani, women’s basketball’s Morgan Bamberger and Becky Evans, Ciara Marshall from women’s lacrosse, women’s swimming’s Courtney Betsock, Laura Ciuchta, Nicole Flohr, Kyra Lancaster, Madison Martin, and Sarah Wolfe, women’s tennis’ Meridyth Sanders and Leah Wingert, women’s track & field’s Abbey Barnhart, Anna Burkhart, Alyssa Diffenderfer, Hannah Kurek, Kate Mowrey, and Jessica Olewine, and Kaitlyn Welch from women’s swimming and women’s tennis.
Women’s tennis had the highest percentage of student-athletes earn the honor with 10 of the team’s 12 players recognized. Women’s indoor and outdoor track & field and women’s swimming led all LVC teams with 22 honorees apiece, while men’s lacrosse and men’s indoor and outdoor track & field were the top male squads with 17 recipients each.
