Fifth annual John Hubbard Memorial Photography Contest winners announced
On Friday June 22, 2018, Community Memorial announced the winners of the fifth annual John Hubbard Memorial Photography Contest during a special ceremony in the hospital cafeteria. The photography contest invited employees, medical staff and hospital auxiliary members to share their creative talents. Prizes were awarded in four
categories:
Hospital Related Winner: Meghan Dougherty, Administration
Human Interest Winner: Jamie Matuszczak, Hamilton Family Health Center
Most Creative Winner: Trina Todd, Case Management
Best Community Interest Winner: Cortney Mayo, Patient Access
The contest is named in memory of Community Memorial employee, John D. Hubbard who lost his battle with cancer May 6, 2010. Hubbard was appointed Director of Public Relations and Development at Community Memorial Hospital in 2005 and was promoted to Vice President for Community Services. Hubbard a Colgate alumnus and former staff member chronicled the life of the campus and the Hamilton community in photos and words for decades. This employee-related event sponsored by Community Memorial recognizes Hubbard’s passion for the art of photography and telling the “Hamilton” story.
“We have very creative employees at Community Memorial, which is evident by their entries. We are pleased to carry on this tradition and will continue to bring the images of Hamilton to life much like John did. Our employees look forward to this event every year,” said by Sean Fadale during the ceremony on Friday.
The winning images and all entries are displayed for the remainder of 2018 outside the hospital cafeteria and across from the Radiology Department.
A special thank you to this year’s judge, Terry Murphy, local photographer. The public is invited to stop in and view all the wonderful photographs.
