Journalist Sharon Nagel to Discuss French Wine Region at the Cazenovia Public Library

Do you love wine and want to learn more about important wine-producing regions? The Cazenovia Public Library will host a special presentation for wine enthusiasts Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m., in the Community Room. Journalist and author Sharon Nagel will explore Pic Saint Loup, a wine-producing area in southern France’s Languedoc wine region.

Sharon Nagel is a well-known contributor to the international wine industry. She grew up in the English countryside before relocating the Mediterranean. A passionate reader, writer, and wine lover, Nagel moved to a former wine estate in the Pic St. Loup to begin a career in wine writing and translation. Her recent book, Un Terroir, des Hommes: Le Pic Saint Loup ­– The Authoritative Book for Pic Saint Loup Wine Lovers, was awarded the “Best in the World” title in the translation category at the 2015 Gourmand Wine & Drinks Awards.

Avengers: Infinity War to be shown at the Cazenovia Public Library

The Cazenovia Public Library will present a free screening of Avengers: Infinity War Friday, Aug. 17, at 6 p.m., in the Community Room. The 2018 superhero film is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. It is the sequel to The Avengers (2012) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, and the rest of the Avengers unite to defeat their most powerful adversary yet—the evil Thanos. The team and their allies must stop the tyrant before he collects all six Infinity Stones and uses them to inflict his will on the universe.

The film is rated PG-13 and runs 149 minutes. Free popcorn provided. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Cazenovia Public Library.
