Donations to benefit the Community Wellness Center

The Board of Governors of the Community Wellness Center is proud to announce the acceptance of four donations to the Community Wellness Center in Hamilton. These gifts will strengthen the ability of the Wellness program to continue to serve its members.

The board accepted donations from friends of Fran Conti that were given in her memory. Fran was a dedicated member of the center. The Wellness Center is most appreciative of the outpouring of support for the program in the name of our long-time member and community leader.

In support of Fran’s commitment to the CWC, the Conti family contributed a second separate donation to the center. Fran’s children, Matthew Conti, who lives in Boston, Mass., and Regina Conti, who lives in Hamilton, expressed how strongly their mother supported the CWC. Fran wrote a letter to the editor that described the importance of the center in meeting her healthcare needs.

“I am grateful to the CWC for recognizing a potentially dangerous situation, for immediately communicating information to my cardiologist with my permission, and perhaps most importantly, for giving me peace of mind knowing that my health and well-being was diligently being monitored,” she wrote.

A third unrelated gift came from the Myers family in Hamilton who donated a 2016 Model 7 Landice treadmill. Moors, a former CWC member and her husband Tom, wanted to recognize the Community Wellness Center for being a unique asset that is worthy of community support.

“We know that, as the Community Wellness Center continues to expand its memberships, it needs additional equipment,” Moors said. “We are pleased to help the CWC and took this opportunity to encourage others in the Hamilton community to also support this program.”

The cost for relocating the treadmill to the S&S Appliance plaza in Hamilton is also being funded by a private donation. Ben Eberhardt, a CWC Governing Board member, will cover the relocation costs.

“Moving such a sophisticated piece of equipment is no easy task,” Eberhardt said. “We appreciate the treadmill donation, which will help us increase our equipment inventory. This support from the Myers’ family is indicative of the caring by so many Hamilton residents.”

The board and members are grateful to have friends such as the Myers, Conti and Eberhardt families. We are honored by their caring and friendship.
