Sept. 25 is National Voter Registration Day 2018
Local Libraries Participate As Registration Venues
National Voter Registration Day is a national holiday with the sole focus of registering citizens to vote. Every year, millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don’t update their registration or aren’t sure how to register. National Voter Registration Day exists to make sure everyone has the opportunity to vote by creating awareness of voter registration opportunities and by reaching voters who may not register otherwise.
On Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, volunteers and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” in a single day of coordinated field, technology and media efforts.
The following libraries in Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties will participate in the national holiday’s registration efforts: Barneveld, Bridgeport, Canastota, Cazenovia, Chittenango, Clayville, Clinton, DeRuyter, Dolgeville, Hamilton, Herkimer, Illion, Middleville, New Hartford, New Woodstock, New York Mills, Old Forge, Oneida, Prospect, Rome, Sherrill, Utica and Whitesboro.
Local libraries are committed to strengthening our communities by getting voters registered. Stop by your local library Sept. 25 to celebrate your democratic rights.
