Fort Drum man arrested on rape and criminal sex act charges
On Sept. 24, 2018, the state police arrested Michael Estes, Jr., 21, of Fort Drum, for third-degree rape (class E felony), third-degree criminal sexual act (class E felony) and endangering the welfare of a child (class A misdemeanor).
An investigation determined that earlier this month, Estes was involved in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old at Fort Drum. He was arraigned in LeRay Town Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
He is scheduled to reappear in LeRay Town Court Sept. 27, 2018, at 2 p.m.
