Resident in Critical Condition following fire at apartment complex in Tully

On Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at 9:03 a.m., State Police responded to a reported apartment fire at The Meadows Apartments located at 1 Village View Drive in the village of Tully.

When firefighters from Tully Fire Department arrived, they located Larry J. Rowley, 66, on the floor of his apartment. Rowley was carried by fire personnel out of the building and was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and was listed in critical condition.

The official cause of the fire is still under investigation. The preliminary investigation has revealed the victim may have been smoking inside the apartment while using an oxygen tank.
On Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, Rowley was still listed in critical condition with second-degree burns to both arms and third-degree burns to his face.State police were assisted at the scene by Tully Fire Department and the Onondaga County Department of Emergency Management.
