North Syracuse man arrested on robbery charges
On Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at approximately 8:39 p.m., state police, along with members from the village of North Syracuse Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the Rite Aid store located at 114 N. Main St., North Syracuse, for a reported robbery that just occurred.
The preliminary investigation revealed a male wearing all black clothing entered the store, obtained a beverage and proceeded to the checkout counter. The male then implied that he had a weapon, and demanded the cashier retrieve cash from the register. The cashier provided the money from the register and the male exited the store.
The suspect, positively identified as William R. Green, 39, of 116 Church St., North Syracuse, was charged with third-degree robbery, a class D felony. He was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending centralized arraignment.
Due to the quick response of all officers in this multi-agency effort, the suspect was apprehended quickly and a portion of the proceeds were recovered.
