Athletics Association Names Colgate’s Senior Associate AD an Administrator of the Year
(Hamilton, NY – July 2014) NACWAA has named Colgate’s Ann-Marie Guglieri a major award recipient.
Guglieri was tabbed recently by the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators for its 2014 Nell Jackson Administrator of the Year Award in recognition of outstanding achievements and success working in collegiate athletics.
Formal presentation is set for Oct. 14 in Louisville, Ky. at the 35th Annual NACWAAA National Convention.
Guglieri holds the title Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations and is Colgate’s Senior Woman Administrator. She was chosen as someone who exemplifies the personal qualities of Dr. Nell Jackson, a former U.S. Olympic athlete and coach who also served as a longtime athletics administrator at Michigan State.
The NACWAA release stated that, “Nell Jackson honoree Ann-Marie Guglieri strives for excellence not only in advocating for gender equity, diversity, pluralism and individual differences, but also in influencing others to do the same. In her 15 years in intercollegiate athletics, Ann-Marie has been applauded for her enthusiasm in serving as a role model and mentor for thousands of student-athletes and hundreds of coaches and peer administrators.
“She has made changes and improvements that have changed the athletic culture of Colgate for the better. Her nominator cites her most impressive feat as serving as an effective change agent while maintaining a very positive attitude and unbelievable work ethic.”
