Farmers' MarketBring your pressure canner lid to the Oxford Farmers’ Market on Saturday, June 4th, 10 am to 12 noon, to have the gauge tested before you use it this season. Properly tested equipment is essential to safely preserving this year’s bounty from the garden. Master Food Preserver volunteers Gale Hamstra and Louise Butcher will be on hand to display and discuss equipment, tools, recipe books, boiling water vs. pressure canning, and altitude adjustments. Copies of the Cooperative Extension Food Preservation class schedule will be available.

The Oxford Farmers’ Market takes place in Lafayette Park, Route 12, in Oxford, every Saturday, 9 am to 12 noon, from now through the end of September. Market vendors offer fresh-picked, locally grown produce, flowers, herbs, farm-fresh eggs, pastured chicken and rabbit, maple syrup, honey, and preserves, and a wide variety of baked goods. Also available are handcrafted items, fiber products, natural soaps, and plants. All products at the Oxford Farmers’ Market are made by neighbors you can meet, hands you can shake.
