elizabeth_geraceCatherine James, chief executive officer for the Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter, recently announced the hiring of Elizabeth L. Gerace as associate program director. In this roll, she is responsible for delivering programs and services to the Chapter’s 14-county area.

She will also focus on outreach to diverse and underserved populations in the Central New York region.

Gerace joined the Chapter from Eric Kingson’s congressional campaign. She had previously worked with Coordinated Care Services Inc., Say Yes to Education and was a policy and advocacy fellow for Leadership for Educational Equity, Families for Excellent Schools in New Haven, Conn.

Gerace is also a Teach for America alumna.

She earned her master’s degree in social work from Syracuse University’s David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics and a dual bachelor’s degree in communications studies and creative writing from SUNY Oswego.
