On May 4, 2019, at 11:46 p.m., Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 5287 N. Main St., Munnsville, for a report of a male attempting to commit suicide with a gun. It was reported that the male had already fired off one round and was still in the apartment.
Upon arrival, investigation revealed 53-year-old Alexander Wing was involved in a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend when he became upset at the situation and then shot a rifle inside the apartment.
The MCSO Special Operations Unit responded to the scene. A negotiator with the SOU team contacted Wing, and after several attempts was able to get Wing to safely exit the residence.
Wing was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment (class A misdemeanor) for firing the rifle inside his apartment and creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another person.
Wing was issued an appearance ticket and was then taken for medical treatment.
The state police, Oneida Nation Police, Vineall Ambulance and Munnsville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
