On May 17, 2019, state police from Troop T and Troop K arrested Corey W. Heald, 29, and Kelly L. Heald, 51, both of Massena, for first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class C felony.
At approximately 10 a.m., a trooper from Troop T conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on the Berkshire Spur portion of the state Thruway in the town of Chatham for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
A subsequent K9 detection and search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of more than 200 pounds of marijuana.
Both subjects were arraigned in Livingston Town Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
