OPL Board Meeting, Wednesday at 9 a.m.
The Oneida Public Library Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 9 a.m. in the library’s Local History Room, 220 Broad St., Oneida, to elect board officials for the new fiscal year, which runs from July 1, 2019 through to June 30, 2020. The public is invited to attend. The History Room permits barrier-free access to the physically handicapped.

YOU(th) Decide, Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Under the auspices of the BRiDGES Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse of Madison County, the YOU(th) Decide program will be hosted at Oneida Public Library for young people 12 to 17 years of age in need of becoming aware of gambling behaviors and the risks of underage gambling.

Red Cross Blood Drive, Thursday, 1 to 6 p.m.
The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at the OPL to help relieve severe blood plasma shortages. Those who wish to donate blood should schedule an appointment by calling the Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

The OPL Summer Theater Camp, Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Budding actors aged 8-14 years will have the chance to learn theater skills with Director Tom Lemery and recreate a classic science-fiction radio play, “Nightfall,” based on an Isaac Asimov story. The play offers many choice acting roles plus wonderful sound effects. Pouring for Jewelry, Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Artist and teacher Delynn Orton will guide adult students in acrylic paint pouring, designing lightweight costume jewelry with the poured design as well as creating a small canvas painting. The fee for instruction, art materials and jewelry fixtures is $45 per person. A follow-up class will be held Thursday, July 25, at 6:30 p.m. Pre-registration at the Oneida Library desk is required.

Rebel Legion comes to the OPL, Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Force will be with you when fully costumed members of the Echo Base Patrol of Rebel Legion home in on the OPL. Rebel Legion is an international volunteer organization made up of Star War fans who make public appearances in costume to raise funds for charity. The program is free and open to children and their parents or guardians.

First Lego League Robotics Workshop, Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Back for its seventh year, the robotics workshop led by U.S. Air Force Lab specialists Ralph Kohler and Tandi Paugh is for students who have completed fifth grade. They will program and manipulate tabletop robots made of Legos and programmable controls to tackle special tasks.
