This past Monday, Assemblyman John Salka (R,C,Ref-Brookfield) hosted a prescription drug take-back event with the Oneonta Police Department.
The event resulted in the collection of more than 50 pounds of expired medications and drugs.
Salka encourages anyone who may have missed the event to bring any expired prescriptions to the drug take-back box in the lobby of the Oneonta Police Department so they can be disposed of safely, protecting the public and the environment.
“I am immensely pleased with the turnout at the drug take-back event,” Salka said. “Working with so many tremendous people from the Oneonta PD to ensure expired medications and prescriptions are disposed of safely was a great experience.
“Together we collected more than 50 pounds of expired medications. We owe a huge thank you to Police Chief Doug Brenner and Detective Jennifer Torres for their passion and help with this event. I am proud to represent such passionate and driven folks working to protect us all.”
Assemblyman John Salka represents the 121st Assembly District, encompassing all of Madison County and portions of Oneida and Otsego counties.
