Breast cancer screening is a life-saver, and SUNY Upstate Medical University and the Canastota Public Library are partnering to make it easy to get your annual mammogram.
The mobile mammography van from SUNY Upstate Medical University will be at the Canastota Public Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, in the parking lot, adjacent to the public library.
Women 40 years old and older are eligible to use the van if they have not had a mammogram in the past year and they show no signs or symptoms of breast cancer. Women do not have to be an Upstate patient to get a mammogram at the van, and results will be sent to a caregiver of the patient’s choice.
Preregistration is required for the mobile mammogram van. You can register by phone at 315.464.2582 or online at upstate.edu/noexcuses.
If you prefer to register in person, representatives from the SUNY Upstate Medical University mobile mammography van will be at the Canastota Public Library from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, to accept your preregistration.
There is no charge for these annual mammograms. Both insured and uninsured women will be able to use the van for this important service. No referral is needed. The project is supported with funds from Health Research, Inc., and New York state.
The Canastota Public Library is located at 102 W. Center St., Canastota.
