Rep. Anthony Brindisi
Rep. Anthony Brindisi

Following the horrific tragedies this weekend in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, Congressman Anthony Brindisi (NY-22) issued the following statement:

Now Dayton becomes the 251st mass shooting this year. Thousands upon thousands of innocent lives lost to gun violence since the House passed bipartisan universal background checks. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell must act and bring the Senate back to vote on this bill. I stand ready to return to Washington to support any legislation that will help keep guns out of the hands of domestic terrorists. I condemn the rise of white nationalism and hate in our country, and our leaders from the president on down need to be clear on this, too.

Earlier this Congress, Brindisi voted to support the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019.
