Sullivan Town Supervisor and Madison County Board of Supervisors Chairman John Becker announced that he has been endorsed for re-election by CSEA.
This employee organization represents many Madison County government employees.
In their letter of endorsement, CSEA Region 5 President and CSEA Region 5 PAC Chair David Lee stated, “This endorsement acknowledges your interests in the issues affecting workers, and your commitment to addressing the needs of all hard-working men and women.”
“It’s an honor to have the support of so many hard-working Madison County employees,” said Becker. “I’m running for re-election to keep the town of Sullivan and Madison County moving in the right direction through stable leadership and a tight watch on the taxpayers’ dollars.”
Becker has served as Sullivan Town Supervisor for 14 years and as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for 12 years. During his tenure, he has prioritized fiscal responsibility, delivering a 30-percent decrease in the town tax rate while Moody’s has upgraded the town credit rating to AA3.
Increasing public safety and funding infrastructure has also been a priority for Becker. He has delivered funding for school resource officers in every school in Sullivan, while also helping to provide capital funding for a new AMR ambulance facility, new secure courtrooms, new state trooper barracks, a new pier and dog park at Chapman Park, sports facilities at Sullivan Park and much more.
The 2019 general election is Nov. 5. Becker will appear on the Republican and Independence ballot lines.
