To the Editor:

I hope that you will be able to include some upcoming events that are happening here at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, in Cazenovia.

The first is our second annual Fiery Fundraiser at 7 p.m. Sept. 21, 2019.

Come celebrate the final stage of Jim Ridlon Jr’s site-specific installation, “Eclipse” at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park with a fiery send-off. After chronicling the creation of this sculpture through SQHAP’s Instagram and Facebook feeds, the sculpture will enter the end of its life cycle, returning to the earth in a funerary blaze.

There is a $10 suggested donation. Proceeds from this family-friendly event will directly benefit the park. Picnics are encouraged, and guests can bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc. SQHAP will be providing cider and doughnuts.

At 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, the SQHAP will hold the opening reception for Reveal: 2019 Member’s Exhibition.

Reveal reflects our ongoing theme this year of discovery. Works will celebrate the theme through multiple materials, media and forms. This exhibition provides members of the Art Park the opportunity to showcase their work in a unique gallery setting. The exhibition provides artist exposure to the Art Park’s local and regional visitors. The exhibition will be on display in the John and Virginia Winner Memorial Gallery for the month of October. The gallery will be open to the public Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.
