Members of the Library Board of Trustees are collecting items for the annual Silent Auction until Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. Donations can be such things as handcrafted items, artwork, gift certificates, donations from businesses, etc., with a minimum value of $5. They will not be accepting USED items. New or handmade is acceptable. The bidding begins Nov. 4; please help by donating or bidding on items.
Our 17th annual Pumpkin Coloring Contest has begun. Stop in to the library and pick up your pumpkin coloring contest entry. You have until Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. to turn in your creations for judging. Open to toddler through sixth-graders. Winners will be announced at our Halloween party at the end of the month.
Join us for Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Help us have fun with “I’m Grumpy.” stories, finger plays, a craft and more. Can’t make it that day? Join us the following week (Oct. 15) for “In the City.” Be sure to stop in and get a complete schedule today.
On Wednesday, Oct. 9, join us for Book Creations at 6:30 p.m. Come make a “book creation” out of recycled books as Robin Branch-Staelens shows us how. We will be making holiday candles out of recycled books.
On Friday, Oct. 11, join us for Hamilton’s Historic Houses Part 2, a historic talk at 6:30 p.m. We welcome Madison County Historian Judy Lyrek, who will present part two on the Historical Houses in Hamilton. Come and see the photos and hear the stories behind some of the most prominent houses in the town of Hamilton.
Wednesday, Oct. 16, is our next book talk at 6:30 p.m. Looking for a good book to read? How about joining our book talk; we will be reading “The Great Alone,” by Kristin Hannah. Copies can be picked up now. Discussion open to teens and adults. So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, we will be having our Nerf Family Edition from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts, too–label them) and join us for open play around the library. Open to families with children 5 years of age and older. Families must have at least two people and no more than five. We are allowing no more than eight families to sign up and ALL family members MUST play. Sign up now.
We will be closed Monday, Oct. 14, to observe Columbus Day. We will reopen Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m.
We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
