Margaret Milman-Barris and John Nichols, candidates for the two Madison County supervisor seats representing Oneida Wards 1-2-3, have been endorsed by the Civil Service Employees Association; the union represents many Madison County government employees.
“I’m proud to have received the endorsement of the CSEA Central Region 5, and I am a strong supporter of workers’ rights and the work that unions do,” Milman-Barris said.
“It’s important to recognize that we owe organized labor for much of what we take for granted,” Nichols said. ”Unions are responsible for rules that protect workers’ rights and the regulations that affect nonunion workers, as well. All of us benefit from the work our union brethren have done.”
Nichols is a former president of the East Syracuse Minoa School District teacher’s union.
Milman-Barris will appear on the Democratic, Independence and Working Families Party lines Nov. 5. Nichols will appear on the Make a Difference Party line.
Both Milman-Barris and Nichols will represent Oneida well. They have my full support and I encourage you to support them as well. Al Cohen
