Participants to demand Trump be impeached and removed from office
At 5:30 p.m. the night before the U.S. House of Representatives votes to impeach Donald Trump for his high crimes and misdemeanors, activists will gather at Oneida Square Roundabout on Genesee Street as part of the nationwide “Nobody Is Above the Law” Impeachment Eve rallies. The rally in Utica will be one of more than 270 actions occurring nationwide in more than 40 states and Washington, D.C.
The mobilization is part of a massive, grassroots effort to ensure Congress holds Trump accountable for trying to use military aid to pressure Ukraine to interfere in our 2020 elections. A series of credible non-partisan witnesses including military veterans and longtime public servants provided evidence that Trump’s self-dealing actions put our country’s election security and national interests at risk.
Protestors will demand that the House of Representatives fulfill its constitutional duty by impeaching Trump and that the Senate remove him from office for attempting to rig the 2020 elections. Congress must show that no one, not even the president, is above the law.
Activists will use #NotAboveTheLaw to engage communities on social media. Information about other events can be found at Impeach.org. The link to the event in Utica is here.
