Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, was “Rural Health Day.” To observe and celebrate this day, The Madison County Rural Health Council gave out the “Power of Rural” award, which recognizes Madison County residents who have demonstrated outstanding attitude and commitment to improving the health and wellness of our community.
This year, the Council recognized the “DeRuyter Monday Mile Team” for creating an extraordinary Monday Mile Day and organizing a schedule of walks on the DeRuyter Monday Miles to encourage people to enjoy walking in their community to maintain and improve their health.
