Holiday shopping was made easy for those that attended the 64th annual holiday sale held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, hosted by the Auxiliary of Community Memorial.

The event, again at the Baptist church located right in town, featured handmade items, attic treasures and an impressive array of baskets up for raffle. A vast variety of items provides an ideal event for those looking for that special gift this holiday season.

“This popular holiday event takes months to put together,” said Auxiliary President, Gloria Lenhart.  “It is truly a labor of love.  The members of the Auxiliary put many hours of thought and creativity into this sale, and I’m so thankful for everyone that attends in support.”

Lenhart sends a special thank you to the members of the Auxiliary who spent many days prior to the sale pricing attic treasures, making the various holiday items, setting up displays, and providing help the day of the event. Also, the departments of Community Memorial again donated the baskets for raffle sales.

“The generosity of our staff never ceases to amaze me. Each year, their donated baskets become more and more creative. We are so appreciative of both the staff contributions and also the work the Auxiliary puts into this sale, supporting Community Memorial,” stated President and CEO Sean Fadale.

Shoppers lined up early, before the doors were opened by Fadale donning his traditional Santa-attire, greeting guests and mingling amongst the shoppers. “I enjoy coming to this annual sale and being able to show my sincere gratitude towards everyone that contributes, whether it’s through donations or purchases,” stated Fadale.

Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was founded in 1951 as a support system represented by over 50 volunteers from all neighboring communities, with the goal of providing additional value to the healthcare services and mission statement of Community Memorial Hospital
