- Four Fabulous Female Novelists Part 1. Wednesday at 7 p.m. Dr. Roxanna Pisiak from Morrisville State College will guide discussion on the recent novels of four contemporary, up-and-coming young women writers who set their fiction in unusual settings around the world. For the first session, she will be discussing Ingrid Rojas Contreras’ “Fruits of the Drunken Tree,” a coming-of-age story set in 1990s’ Columbia in the midst of a drug war between Pablo Escobar and the government. Interested readers can sign up at the OPL’s circulation desk and request a copy of the book.

- After-school Book Club: Wednesday at 4 p.m. Oneida Public Library’s Youth Services Coordinator, Megan Gillander, calls on all third to fifth graders to come to the library and join the first session of OPL’s new monthly Book Club for Kids. The will help select the right book to discuss next month and plan a book-themed activity.
- Book Talk with Dr. Norman Dann: Wednesday at 7 p.m. Dr. Norman Dann, the historian who has taken Peterboro and the Gerrit Smith family as his special subject, will introduce his latest biography, “God, Gerrit and Guidance: The Life of Ann Carroll Fitzhugh Smith.” It is the story of Gerrit Smith’s dutiful wife Ann, who in her own right was a proto-feminist and her husband’s partner in reform. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing by the author.
