Assemblyman John Salka (R,C,Ref-Brookfield) issued the following statement on bail reform dominating public protection discussion.
“It’s greatly disappointing to see the disregard that some state Democrats are having to the outpouring of demand to repeal bail reform. It was the centerpiece of the public safety hearing today but there was zero gravity given to the hundreds of valid points brought up by legislators, district attorneys, sheriffs and police officers. Not to mention the families of the victims. Its far past time we put aside partisan politics and govern to protect the people of New York. Too many families are being torn apart and lives are being lost.”
Assemblyman John Salka represents the 121st Assembly District, encompasses all of Madison County and portions of Oneida and Otsego counties.
