In the early morning hours of Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, members of the Oneida City Police Department and state Police Special Operations Response Team executed a no-knock search warrant at an apartment at 191 Madison St., in the city of Oneida.
This search warrant was the culmination of a three-month investigation into the illegal possession and sales of crack cocaine at that location.
The suspect, James Teasley, 59, was taken into custody without incident. Per a sealed indictment warrant, he was transported to the Madison County Jail to await arraignment in Madison County Court.
In the indictment, Teasley was charged with three counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, both class B felonies.
During the course of the search warrant, officers and investigators recovered a quantity of crack cocaine, synthetic drugs, pills, marijuana, drug packaging and scale and U.S. currency. Additional charges are pending relating to the evidence found in the residence.
Teasley was later arraigned before the Madison County Court on the above listed charges and released on his own recognizance.
He is scheduled to reappear before the court at a later date and time.
