The Utica Municipal Housing Authority announced it will hold an open house for a newly constructed three-bedroom duplex apartment for hearing and visually impaired persons from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 1202 Seymour Ave., Utica (at the corner of Eagle Street).
Rental apartment viewings and rental applications will be available.
The open house is free and open to the public; refreshments will be provided.
Individual prospective tenants as well as local agencies serving the disabled are welcome to attend.
This brand new adaptable three-bedroom apartment will be available in March. Rent is based upon 30 percent of income. At least one household member must have a vision/hearing disability. The unit is equipped with vibrating/strobe smoke alarms; other apartment features include off-street parking, central air, stove and refrigerator. The unit is within walking distance of bus lines, stores and neighborhood schools.
This apartment is one of the units of the UMHA’s Roosevelt Residences development a 50-unit, scattered-site, new construction affordable housing project located in Utica. A multi-family development – with 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom units – the 50 total units will be scattered across 24 buildings (and one Resident Center) located on 11 sites.
The unit is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants may pick up an application at UMHA offices located at 509 Second St., Utica.
