The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced its 2019-20 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll, naming 23 student-athletes from SUNY Morrisville’s field hockey and men’s ice hockey programs to its list.
The Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes with a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average.
“Our student-athletes continue to make the commitment to excellence in the classroom, as well as on the fields of competition,” said Brandy Thurston, Senior Woman Administrator.
“Both programs registered team GPA’s above a 3.0 while being involved within the local and surrounding communities with outstanding service initiatives as well.
“Their dedication to putting student first in student-athlete, truly speaks to their character and pledge to academic success, as well as the core principles of what it means to be a Division III student-athlete.”
Those named to the Honor Roll for SUNY Morrisville include the following:
Field hockey
- Senior Leah Gamlen (Cazenovia), applied psychology
