Major General Ray Shields, the Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

  • Adam Alishauskas of Sherburne, assigned to the Company C, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry, received a promotion to the rank of staff sergeant March 2, 2021.
  • Grace Bell of Syracuse, assigned to the 827th Engineer Company, received a promotion to the rank of specialist March 18, 2021.
  • Kiernan Masner of Oneida, assigned to the Company D, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, received a promotion to the rank of private 1st class Feb. 27, 2021.
  • Logan Price of Syracuse, assigned to the Medical Command, received a promotion to the rank of staff sergeant March 4, 2021.
  • Chad Roher of Oriskany Falls, assigned to the Forward Support Company, 204th Engineer Battalion, received a promotion to the rank of staff sergeant March 15, 2021.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability and development potential.

These promotions additionally recognize the best qualified Soldiers and attract and retain the highest caliber Citizen Soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard.
