Our Summer Reading Program, Tails & Tales has begun. If you are ages 1 and up (that means adults too.) and haven’t signed up yet, stop in today. Check out the fun things going on in the next week or so. For details, visit morrisvillepubliclibrary.org/events/summer-reading-2021/.

The Utica Zoomobile will be here at 4 p.m. Friday, July 9, outside. Face coverings and social distancing are not mandated for outside programs. (Masks and/or social distancing are optional by you, based on your comfort level.) Bring your own chairs, blankets, etc. to sit on as the library will not be providing anything. Remember it will be outside so plan for the weather, temperature, bugs, sprinkles of rain, etc.

Join us Saturday, July 10, from 9 to 3 p.m. for our Summer Book Sale. Only five people will be allowed in at one time. So you may be asked to wait outside if the room is “full.” Bring your own bags/boxes as we cannot provide any. Cash only for purchases. Everyone who attends must wear a face covering the entire time and use our hand sanitizer upon entrance.

Stop in Monday, July 12, through Friday, July 16, and get your take-n-make activity to do at home. This week will be Butterfly Puddlers. What are they? A place for butterflies to land and drink water. Stop in and get your kit this week, while supplies last. And, stop in Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, and get your kit for Animal Magnets. Craft kits are for kids ages 4-15 only.

Join Library Manager Michelle Rounds for virtual story time as she reads books about cats and dogs Tuesday, July 13, at 11 a.m., on Facebook Live. Then stop into the library and get the craft activity to take home and do. (Craft kits are only available until Friday, July 16, while supplies last.) Be sure to listen for a code word during the reading. Then let us know this word to get your ticket entered into the prize drawings at the end of summer reading. (Craft kits are for kids ages 3-9 only.)

Join us Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. as Library Manager Michelle Rounds reads on Facebook Live Incredible Journey by Sheila Burnford. Fun for kids and adults. (This will run July 7 through Aug. 18). It will be live on Facebook until Aug. 31, 2021, when it will be removed. Be sure to check out the movie “Homeward Bound,” as it was based on this book. Listen for a code word during the reading. Then let us know this word to get your ticket entered into the prize drawings at the end of summer reading.

Thank you to all of our patrons. We have been open 10 years in our new space. To celebrate, stop in during the month of July and get your commemorative items. Come in and grab a magnetic bookmark(s) commemorating the event, and people ages 16 and up can enter once for a $50 Rays Brother’s BBQ gift card. Also stop in July 19 and get your vanilla cupcake with an edible cake topper that has the library picture and the phrase, “celebrating 10 years in our new space.” Then continue to use your library for another 10 years and beyond.
