(Aurora, NY – Jan. 23, 2013) Visiting Morrisville State College women’s basketball struggled from the floor, shooting just 27.8 percent in the contest, as host Wells College collected a 56-34 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Wednesday night in Aurora.
The loss drops Morrisville State to 1-16 overall, 1-8 in conference action. Wells nearly pulls even at 8-9, while lifting their NEAC record to 7-2.
Jennel Paul (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Morrisville State’s efforts, posting a team high 10 points to go along with three assists, as teammate Nijee Scott (Bronx, N.Y.) added nine while grabbing a team best 10 rebounds.
Lindsay Achzet led the Express with 15 points, as Ashley Roser rounded out double digit scoring with 12 points, snaring 10 rebounds for the double-double performance.
Morrisville State trailed 32-15 at the half and were unable to recover from the deficit as Wells picked up the win.
The Mustangs return to the court Saturday, hosting Cazenovia College at 1 p.m.
