Oneida AARP plans Valentine’s Day meeting
(Oneida, NY – Feb. 2013) Oneida Area AARP Chapter 3328 will celebrate Valentine’s Day at its regular meeting on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 13.
Members will meet at noon at St. Paul’s Church, 551 Sayles St., Oneida. The day will begin by selecting a King and Queen for the day.
Then a catered spaghetti luncheon will take place. Members will need to bring their own table service. Coffee and tea will be provided. The dessert will be the traditional Valentine’s Day cake, provided by the Chapter.
Tickets are $8 per person and are available by calling Isa Wosjiat at (315) 280- 4685. Members are asked to buy their ticket by Feb. 5 as a total count is needed by the board meeting on Feb. 6.
The men are asked to come at 11 a.m. to set up tables.
The business meeting will begin after the luncheon followed by an auction. Each member is asked to bring a wrapped item to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. This is always a fun event and the proceeds help to offset the increase in the budget each year.
Any National AARP member is encouraged to join the Local Chapter. Dues are $5 per year per member and an application can be obtained by attending a meeting or calling Isa Wosjiat at 280-4685.
