Warthen Named to McDaniel College Dean’s List

(Bridgeport) Kelsey R. Warthen of Bridgeport has been named to the McDaniel College fall 2012 dean’s list with highest honors. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 average.

Students Make SUNY Buffalo Dean’s List

The following local students were named to the fall 2012 dean’s list at SUNY Buffalo:

Bonnie Bethea of Canastota, majoring in political science; Brianna Jackson of Erieville, majoring in photography; Christopher Mascato of Kirkville, majoring in English; and Tanya Percy of Canastota, majoring in anthropology.

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Choquette Earns Part-Time Honors at SUNY Canton

SUNY Canton recently recognized students who excelled academically during the fall 2012 semester.

Kyle Choquette of Chittenango, a SUNY Canton bachelor of science in nursing major, received part-time honors. Choquette is a 2004 graduate of Morrisville-Eaton Central School.

“The College’s deans and I are very proud of these students,” said Interim SUNY Canton President Carli C. Schiffner. “They are demonstrating commitment to their education and it is my great pleasure to congratulate them on their success.”

To receive Part-Time Honors students must earn at least a 3.25 GPA on six to 11 credit hours.

Canton Students Named to President’s List

SUNY Canton recently recognized students who excelled academically during the fall 2012 semester.

Among the students who earned honors for academics were:

Francesca Popple of Canastota, a SUNY Canton graphic and multimedia design major and 2010 graduate of Canastota High School; and Brandon M. Pupp of Oneida, an undeclared major and 2012 graduate of Stockbridge Central School.

“The College’s deans and I are very proud of these students,” said Interim SUNY Canton President Carli C. Schiffner. “They are demonstrating commitment to their education and it is my great pleasure to congratulate them on their success.”

To receive president’s list honors, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Canton Students Named to Dean’s List

SUNY Canton recently recognized students who excelled academically during the fall 2012 semester.

Among the students who earned honors for academics were:

Kelsey Gibb of Chittenango, a SUNY Canton health science career studies major and 2011 graduate of Chittenango Senior High School; and Brandee M. DuBois of Oneida, a SUNY Canton bachelor of science in nursing major and 2001 graduate of Oneida High School.

To receive dean’s list honors, full-time students must receive a GPA of 3.25. Part-time honors are awarded to students earning at least a 3.25 GPA on six to 11 credit hours.

Elmira College Students Honored

On Thursday, Jan. 31, Elmira College held its 2013 Cowles Honor Scholars Celebration, recognizing the following students:

Kara Maison ’13 of Canastota has earned recognition as a Cowles Honor Scholar. Maison is majoring in speech and hearing and is the daughter of Greg and Susan Maison.

Bethanie Paddock ’13 of DeRuyter has earned recognition as a Cowles Honor Scholar. Bethanie is majoring in Psychology and is the daughter of Theresa Paddock.

To achieve standing as a Cowles Honor Scholar, students must be members of the class of 2013, have attended at least two terms and hold a 3.6 cumulative grade point average.

Morley Named to Lycoming College’s Dean’s List

Ethan Morley of Bouckville, a history major, was named to Lycoming College’s dean’s list for the fall semester. The dean’s list is issued at the close of each semester in recognition of superior scholarship. Students make the dean’s list if they complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.

Infarinato Named to Georgia Southern President’s List

Georgia Southern University recently recognized 1,107 students on the 2012 fall semester president’s list. Nicole Infarinato , majoring in biology from Oneida, has been named to the list for excellence in academics. To be eligible for the president’s list, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Students Named to Dean’s List at the University of Vermont

The following area students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at the University of Vermont:

Michael T. Jones of Hamilton, a junior majoring in political science in the College of Arts & Sciences; Daniel C. Meeks of Hamilton, a junior majoring in Environmental Sciences in the Rubenstein School of Environment & Natural Resources.; Chelsey P. Haflett of Munnsville, a senior majoring in social work in the College of Education & Social Services; and Makenzy M. Smith of Oriskany Falls, a junior majoring in Anthropology in the College of Arts & Sciences.

To be named to the dean’s lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
