(Cazenovia, NY) Connie Monteleone Whitton has joined the Cazenovia College Board of Trustees. She will serve on the Institutional Advancement and Student Life committees. She was a member of the ad hoc committee that directed Cazenovia College’s accreditation to grant baccalaureate degrees in the 1990s.
Whitton is currently an executive coach and business consultant. She was assistant vice president at Strategic Initiatives at SRC, Inc., in Syracuse; and has served in executive positions at Carrier Corporation/United Technologies, HSBC and Alliance Bank.
Whitton has been involved with a number of non-profit organizations, including SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry; United Way; the Friends of the Burnet Park Zoo, serving on the board; and was a charter member of the Onondaga Lake Commission. Whitton was appointed to the Onondaga Community Colleg e Board of Trustees by Governor George Pataki in 1996 and served 16 years, holding various positions, including chair, vice chair and secretary.
As chair of the Onondaga County Planning Board, she directed the county’s land use plan through 2010 and was part of the project team responsible for establishing the Onondaga County Convention Center. She has also served on the boards of the Franciscan Academy, Rape Crisis Center, and New York State Banker’s Retail Banking Committee. She is a recipient of the Post Standard’s Women of Achievement Award, and was awarded an honorary Associate in Arts degree from Onondaga Community College in 2009.
Whitton earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in managerial sciences from St. Bonaventure University and has completed extensive graduate work at Syracuse University’s School of Management.
